Friday Favorites: Six Places in the United States I Would Love to Visit Again

Happy Friday, friends! It’s been a fun week here with my in-laws in town for the first half of the week and Chris starting a new rotation in the second half of the week. Yesterday, we found out he gets a three-day weekend this weekend for the first time since he’s started intern year! Sadly, we just found out, so I didn’t have time to plan a weekend trip, but I can’t wait to spend three days with my love in the city. He has seven straight days of nights after this weekend, so it will be a nice break before a tough week.

Last week I had so much fun sharing the top places on my United States travel list, so this week, I thought I would share the top six places I want to visit again as soon as possible. I had the hardest time narrowing down this list because the United States is full of so many amazing places.

Lake Tahoe
Growing up, we went to San Francisco for a month every summer and a month every winter to visit family friends. Most of that month during the winter was spent in Lake Tahoe, and it is one of my favorite places in the world. I haven’t been back since I was a kid, and I would love to go with Chris someday.

Hawaii
The biggest trip I ever took with my family was a 2.5-week adventure in Hawaii, visiting Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island. Chris has never been to Hawaii, and I would love to go with him for our next big anniversary.

Maine
We visited Maine in 2014 on our fall foliage cruise, and I fell in love. I would love to see more of the beautiful state and revisit Portland, Kennebunkport, and Bar Harbor. One of my big dreams is to own a summer home in Maine.

New York City
New York City will always have a special place in my heart because it’s where we lived when we first moved to the United States. My best friend is moving to Long Island from Texas just as we are moving back (perfect timing, right?), so I would love to visit her in New York City while she’s there.

Las Vegas
Vegas is my favorite place to go when we only have a few days of vacation. With amazing food, great shows, and fun hotels, there is always plenty to do. When we move back to Texas, I hope to book a short trip to Vegas.

Alaska
I had hoped to keep this list to five places, but there was no way I was going to make a list of places I want to return without mentioning Alaska. It is easily one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited, and I would go back in a heartbeat. I need to write a few more Alaska posts on here to show y’all just how magical this state is.

  1. Gorgeous photos! I have never been to Lake Tahoe or Hawaii, but I'd love to get to both. We've been to the other four places you listed, and I totally agree that those are places to return. For some reason, I'm especially wanting to return to Maine right now! Such a beautiful and peaceful place!

  8. Definitely Maui. I went there for a wedding and would totally move there if money/job wasn't an issue!! Maybe Vegas, because the last time I went I was 9 and couldn't do a whole lot! But I'm not a big gambler so I'd mostly want to see the shows. I live right next door to NYC :) You've been to a lot of cool places!

  10. We've never been to Maine, but I've always heard about how beautiful it is! I hope that you have the chance to go back and visit Hawaii with Chris! It's completely different visiting with your husband versus your family. Oh Vegas! You're totally right that it's perfect for a short getaway, and you can't beat the food and shows and just the beauty of the casinos!

  19. My co-worker keeps telling me about Lake Tahoe and how beautiful it is! What makes it so beautiful? the scenery? Or the weather?

Yay for a three day weekend, even if there's nothing major in it just getting three uninterrupted days is great :)
