One.
I prefer cold weather to hot weather. Sweater weather and feeling cozy is the best.
Two.
I hate my name in English, but I love it in Russian. In Russian, my name has a soft sign in it to make the “g” sound nicer.
Three.
I’m allergic to mushrooms, including cream of mushroom soup.
Four.
My favorite flowers are stargazer lilies. I love the way they look and smell.
Five.
I recently started drinking my English breakfast tea with half and half in it, and now it’s my favorite way to start the day.
Six.
I don’t like watching TV much except the news and sports (I’d rather read or go out), but Christopher loves it, so I’m learning to like it. I still can’t watch TV without being on my phone or my computer.
Seven.
Going along with number one, we keep our place cold. In the summer, it has to be 70 degrees or below, and in the winter, its in the 60s.
Eight.
My nicknames in high school were Oggie and OMG (my initials with my maiden name). It’s so weird when someone calls me Oggie now.
Nine.
My favorite books to read are historical fiction, especially about World War II.
Ten.
Even though all of our major events are in July, it’s not my favorite month because of the crazy heat in Texas that time of the year. October is my favorite month of the year.
I love WW2 historical fiction books as well. In fact, I'm reading one right now :)
ReplyDeleteI am with you, I can't watch tv without doing something on my phone or computer, it just doesn't keep my attention.
ReplyDeleteExactly! I have such a short attention span. :)
DeleteI too love the cold weather. The colder the better! I love that your initials were OMG! That is so fab!
ReplyDeleteOctober is my favorite too! So, is your name Olya or Olga? (referring to the "G" thing above) or is the G somewhere else?
ReplyDeleteI love cold weather too! If there was never summer weather I would not be sad! October is the best month, that's why I got married in October!
ReplyDeletei'm not a huge fan of tv either - i mean, i can watch hgtv for 12 hours, but i am not a series kind of person. i am always drawn to ww2 books, they get me every time. i like hotter weather though, but we keep the house cold in winter and a bit warmer but still too cold for me in summer.
ReplyDeleteOctober is the best month ever!
ReplyDeleteI love historial fiction. Being allergic is mushrooms sounds awful. Although, I must admit I don't eat a lot of mushrooms but mushroom soup is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteI sort of wish I was allergic to mushrooms so people would stop giving me crap for not liking them!
ReplyDeleteStargazer lilies are my favorite flower too! That was the flower that Chris used to always buy me when we first started dating, and it's just turned into our thing. And I love WWII historical fiction too! I always know that if you think that a historical fiction book is good, then I'll probably like it too!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Stargazer lilies are my favorite too! So beautiful! I also love sweater weather and being comfy cozy! :)
ReplyDeleteThat picture of you with the trees in fall is gorgeous! What a pretty place! And I'm with you on how pretty stargazer lilies are! :)
ReplyDeleteThat picture of you for prom(?) is stunning! I like the house to be cold too - I always sleep with a fan on! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteI'm totally the opposite about temperature. I would much rather be hot than cold!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big TV person myself. My attention span doesn't last long enough. lol Lovely prom photo of you (well I'm presuming it's prom).
ReplyDeleteso glad I found your blog today! Super excited to be following along here (...and well, a couple of other places, too! lol) October is totally my favorite month of the year too - yay for fall! I'm in the Texas Panhandle and the heat sucks in mid-summer!
ReplyDeleteThe older I get, the more I enjoy the cool weather over the warm. I like my sweaters & hoodies. :)
ReplyDeleteI also am allergic to mushrooms including mushroom soup! People always look at me like I'm crazy when I ask if a dish has cream of mushroom soup in it, glad I'm not the only one!
ReplyDeleteI wish I didn't like to watch TV because we watch way too much of it, ha! And don't worry, you aren't missing much on the mushroom front :) Love this post!
ReplyDeleteWhile I definitely like summer, I'm a cold weather person too!!! I LOVE snow and cabins and sweaters. ugh, the best!!! Additionally, I love reading about WWII as well(watching documentaries about it is the best for me though). Thanks for the fun tidbits.
ReplyDeleteI love getting to know you better through these facts! I love fiction books set anywhere in the Elizabethan Era or Viking Age. Those two time points fascinate me.
ReplyDeleteGah the whole name thing is such a problem. My full name is Ksenia but no one can pronounce it right so I go by Kasi lol. I've been watching a lot less TV now because I'm trying to read more books!
ReplyDeleteWe are definitely different when it comes to the weather! I love a nice cool day every once in awhile but give me a hot summer day any day! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
ReplyDeleteNow I see why you like Chicago...cold is a no-no for me!
ReplyDeleteYou are too, too cute! Thanks for stopping by my blog today. By any chance are you from Oymyakon, Russia??? I saw the most amazing photos on The Weather Channel's website from there during winter. I still remember the post!
ReplyDeleteOctober is a great month in the South. I live in Alabama.
My husband is allergic to mushrooms too. I've never heard of anyone else that is. Also, I love cold weather... just not all year round :)
