What to Wear: New Year’s Eve Dresses

I mentioned yesterday that New Year’s Eve is a huge holiday for Russians, and we love to celebrate in style. For me, New Year’s Eve is all about taking risks and wearing dresses I wouldn’t normally wear. Today I wanted to share some of my favorite dress options for New Year’s Eve.

Casual
If you’re going somewhere where a fancy dress would be out of place, you can still have fun with your outfit. I love bright colors and fun patterns for New Year’s Eve.
Lace
I love wearing lace in the winter, especially for special occasions. New Year’s Eve lace dresses can be both fun and classy.
Metallic
If you don’t want to go full-on sequins for New Year’s Eve, metallic dresses are a great choice. These dresses sparkle but are usually more subtle than sequin dresses.
Sequins
Sequin dresses are my favorite choice for New Year’s Eve. This year, I have been leaning towards navy sequins, but I am also considering black and gold options.
Where are you celebrating New Year’s Eve this year? What are you planning on wearing?

  1. This post was perfect for me since i'm struggling with what to wear!! I'm thinking I want to mix all three of the styles...I usually opt for something that can be worn with tights since it's cold outside!

  2. Oh I wish I had somewhere fun to go or something fun to do for NYE, I love that first Bisou Bisou dress and it's so cheap. I love the last metallic option as well, the one from Macy's. But I don't think we are doing anything fancy, and even if we do, I really can't be spending money on a dress right now. Boo.

  5. Honestly, I'm not much a New Years person. Last year I just stayed home, haha! I think it's because I don't like drinking much and I'm not much of a night owl these days. That being said, I do love myself a lace dress :)

  10. I really love the sequin dress. We tend to ring in the new year outside, usually downtown, so dresses aren't always weather appropriate, but that doesn't mean I don't try on a bunch every year looking for the perfect one!

    1. New Year's Eve outside sounds like so much fun! If you want to wear a dress, maybe you could find a fun sweater dress to wear?
